Tips for Booking Limousine for Wedding/Specialty Car
Like every bride and groom, you most likely intend to hire a limousine service to get you to your wedding. You should decide what kind of car or limo you want to rent, how many hours you need it, and write down any questions you have for the company before you start contacting them.
Count the number of passengers who will be riding in the limousine or in each limousine first. There are several different kinds of limousine vehicles, and each one comfortably accommodates a certain number of passengers. Although there are some common cars available, not all limousine companies will have the same selection.
- Sedans (mostly Town cars but sometimes Mercedes or Specialty Sedans)
- 6-Passenger Limo (Seats 4 comfortably)
- 8 Passengers in a Limo (Seats 6 comfortably)
- 10 Passengers in a Limo (Seats 8 comfortably)
- Limousine with 12 Passengers (Seats 10 comfortably)
- SUV Limousine 14-22 (Typically a Navigator, Escalade, or Excursion)
- 18-20 Passenger Hummer
- Small Shuttle Bus (22-35 Passengers)
- Coach Bus (45-55 Passengers)
- Mini-limo bus (14-22 Passengers)
- Coach Limo Bus (28-35 Passengers)
- Classic Cars (Rolls Royce, Bentley, etc)
- Luxury Cars (Rolls Royce, Bentley, Maybach, etc)
You must figure out how long you need the limo after calculating the number of passengers who will ride in it. Decide how many hours you will need because most limo services charge by the hour. In addition, the majority of businesses have an hourly minimum on Friday and Saturday nights, so if your wedding is on one of these days and you only need a limo for an hour, you might still be charged the minimum rate. Also, ask them what the overtime rates are. If your photography session goes a little over time, it’s possible that you’ll be charged extra fees at the time of service if the booking took longer than expected.
Many limo companies provide a wedding package when asked about their packages. A wedding package typically includes 3–8 hours, limousine decorations, red carpet service, and frequently a toast with champagne. The limo service’s operating hours will include drop-off at the reception, transportation to the ceremony, and transportation to the photography location. After the reception, you might want to consider your options for getting home. The limousine company can schedule a pick-up time after the reception rather than waiting for you during the reception.
You should book the company at least four to six months in advance of your wedding. If your wedding is between the months of April and September, you should book your transportation as soon as possible because the busiest wedding months fill up quickly. Keep in mind that limousine companies book proms from April to June, depending on the area, which may interfere with your booking plans.
When you call local businesses, find out how accommodating they are to your questions and requests. They must respond to your requests politely and promptly. While asking for their rates, find out if gratuity, cancellation fees, and how overtime rates are calculated are included as well. In order to accommodate for extra time, limo companies typically give customers a fifteen minute grace period. However, after that time has passed, you might be charged for overtime. Find out if the vehicles have any music, alcohol, smoking or non-smoking options, refrigeration, or food. Make an appointment if you can to see their fleet of vehicles.
Choose the limousine service you believe will arrive on time, have the best limousine and chauffeur, and offer the best price. Price is usually not as important to people as service, so avoid choosing the cheapest option out of habit. In the limousine industry, you frequently get what you pay for. When making a reservation, be sure to obtain a written copy of the contract, the confirmation or reservation number, and the cancellation policy. Ask the business if they will perform the work themselves or if they will farm it out to another business. Get the name and address of the company, if they intend to outsource the work, so you can confirm their dependability and assess the company’s service, vehicle condition, and reliability.
Inform them if you are uncomfortable having another company handle the transportation for your wedding.
Call a week prior to your wedding to confirm your reservation and ask for the driver’s phone number. Make sure the pick-up addresses and route are accurate. You might also want to call your limousine’s scheduled arrival time the day of the wedding to double-check.
